Woman's Mouth Cancer Goes Ignored by Dentists for Years

Mouth cancer is an extremely serious condition that can sometimes be deadly. We were so happy to help save this woman’s life!

A few years back, our patient noticed a little white line on her gum that didn’t hurt at all. Overtime it started to grow and grow to the point where it almost looked like a tooth abscess.

What’s most shocking is that her dentist originally looked at it and said “it’s nothing” when really it turned out to be the first signs of oral cancer.

An oral tumor can manifest in many different ways, and often times oral growths can be benign. However, sometimes a growth in the mouth can be a sign of a more serious condition.

If you have any reason to be concerned, make sure you get checked out by your dentist. A biopsy is extremely effective at identifying any dental abscess or mouth cancer tumor that you may be concerned about.

Of course she's black, studies show that black people get inadequate health care, doctors don't take us seriously, the whole world is against us.

I’m so scared tomorrow I have to go to the dentist because I think I have to get a tooth out because a bigger tooth is coming over that tooth but they said it was only a cleaning but I know I can trust my dentist

The same thing happened to me. I was in stage 3 when it was found. Never a smoker or drinker and non HPV. I lived in a cancer cluster. I ended up losing half of my tongue, a chain of lymph nodes and the surrounding tissue in my neck. This is what happens when a country does not consider dental care as part of the physical body. Medical and dental care are now a status symbol in the USA. Our health care system nearly killed me. I invite you to watch some of the videos on my channel. Especially the Reality of Malpractice in the USA. This women experienced malpractice. Doctors and dentists know this yet the truth is kept hidden. Patients who have been through it are not backed or supported. In fact, they are ignored, hushed up and kept silent. It is criminal what has happened in this country.

Man do dentist schools have no standards anymore? How can any dentist or oral surgeon overlook this? We need better trained people like this guy! There's so many people that remain sick and stay sick because some doctors or dentists are neglectful or are just oblivious.

I have a question. I had a surgery that involved the surgeons layering large amounts of mesh between my muscles in an attempt to fix very large hernia that was caused from a surgical mistake. The scar(and hernia) went basically from my bellybutton to my spine, if that gives you any idea of the amount of mesh that was used. After the surgery, the wound would not heal. There was a 3 inch part of the incision that was wide open, and stayed that way for a good 6 months. Also, after the mesh surgery, my teeth started breaking. Especially teeth that has previous dental work. I could eat the softest food and yet they would break. We brought this to the attention of my dentist and surgeon, and they both seemed indifferent. I have always had nice teeth, and all of a sudden they are breaking after a mesh surgery, and my mom and I are the only ones that seemed to be concerned. My mom finally Googled common signs of mesh rejection, and my teeth breaking along with failure of the wound to heal were at the top of the list. I don’t know what to do next. Should I get a second opinion, or is it just a coincidence that I’m reading too much into? Thank you for your time!

Most dentist I dealt with in the USA do their best to convince in doing a root canal which is mostly unnecessary, they are just after money and not your well being!
Thank you Dr. Joseph and may ALLAH bless you, always!

Dr. Nemeth, I was wondering what your opinion is of mouthwashes that contain alcohol? Do you think they're a bad idea, and if so, how bad are they? Thank you.

Horrific….Thank God she found you and your staff! I just refered a patient to an oral surgeon for a biopsy last week. During an oral exam I found a large lesion on the lateral boarder of the tongue that wasn't present at his previous 6 month recall appointment. I wish your patient well!!
