A 31-year-old woman who crashed on Whitemud Drive Saturday is in hospital with serious injuries after another vehicle slid into her when she got out of her SUV, say police.
A blue Lexus RX 350 was westbound on Whitemud Drive near the Fox Drive exit when the woman lost control, striking the centre barrier of the freeway, said police in a Saturday night release.
The woman got out of the SUV to speak to another motorist who had stopped to help her when she was struck by a black Dodge Nitro that had been heading westbound on Whitemud. The Nitro then came to a stop in the far right lane of the freeway.
Officers were called to the scene around 8:15 a.m. before the woman was taken to hospital, where she remains with serious injuries.
The 48-year-old man driver of the Nitro was also treated and transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The city police major collisions investigations section has taken over the case.
