Personal Power Wellness Segment: Gastroenterologist Visit today – Improving Stomach Health, Digestion & Peaceful Eating.
Since my experience with gastritis and ER visit last week, being hooked up again to an IV for fluids and stomach pain relief…I’ve been researching and learning a lot about improving digestion, fixing or curing GERD or acid reflux (which I’d never had except for 1-3 times in my life…so uncomfortable indeed. It brings or evokes more compassion in me, greater understanding of the discomfort and pain many people feel).
Most important I saw the doctor today and he reiterated some important points.
Tips and Points for healthy stomach & optimal, robust digestion:
1- eat 2-3 hours before bed
2- do not drink liquid while eating food.
3- no coffee or caffeine on an empty stomach
4- Reduced lime/lemon in the day so I only have 1 lime per day and combined with a solid so the food buffers the citrus effect.
5- Chew all your food slowly & thoroughly (this way to ensure proper, full, easier digestion in your intestines, better stool mobility and no undigested particles in stool. Also this relates to absorbing more nutrients fully from your food into your amazing body so you truly reap the benefits of the food nutrition you’re putting in. Dont waste your efforts or valuable foods).
Take your time.
6- Do not rush.
7- Allow yourself to be in a relaxed, unstressed way and setting because as you relax you enter a more parasympathetic state which enables improved gastric fluids for optimal digestion and thorough breaking down.
8- If you feel it merits, visit your doctor and have them make a blood test for H. PYLORI bacteria, and a stool test to fully determine if there is a gut biome invader that has offset the stomach acid levels and resulting in impaired digestion and your discomforts.
