Amir Masoud, MD, is a board certified gastroenterologist who specializes in gastrointestinal motility disorders—a variety of conditions that affect the digestive tract. Dr. Masoud treats patients with a wide range of ailments including gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD), dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), gastroparesis (delayed emptying of the stomach) and functional bowel disease. Functional bowel disease includes disorders in which patients have chronic abdominal complaints without any physical abnormalities to explain their symptoms. Dr. Masoud is an assistant professor of internal medicine (digestive diseases) at Yale University’s School of Medicine.
