Spoiler alert: If you haven’t seen “Avengers: Endgame” yet, you’re about to feel really left out.
In just 19 days since the opening, the last Avengers film in the Marvel Comics Universe franchise has handily pulled in over $2.2 billion at the box office, surpassing “Titanic” and eking ever so close to “Avatar’s” record setting numbers. But during the first two post-premiere weeks, the tension over undue spoilers was so high that loudmouth moviegoers were being assaulted for leaking plot points.
But as of last Monday, the Russo Brothers say that the “spoiler ban” has officially ended.
“If you haven’t seen Endgame yet, see it this weekend. The spoiler ban lifts on Monday!,” the @Russo_Brothers account tweeted on May 2.
On the following Monday, the directorial duo tweeted a spoiler PSA to the fans, along with a photo on-set with comic book legend Stan Lee.
No one seems more excited by the occasion than the cast, who have been posting behind-the-scenes photos and videos since last week.
“Video ban lifted! I guess I’m not the only one who broke the rules on this day of filming,” tweets @ChrisEvans, sharing a smartphone clip of the set depicting a destroyed Avengers HQ.
Much of what the cast and crew share involve the antics by on-set jokers such as Chris Hemsworth, seen here dancing to a Mariachi band, or Mark Ruffalo and Hemsworth with a couple of really unflattering hairstyles. In a two-part post, Chris Evans gives fans a look at the serene lake location near Avengers HQ -— plus a gyrating Hemsworth.
Others, though, are giving fans a deeper perspective on the film, such as this clip from comic fan publication @MCU_Direct showing an “emotional” deleted scene between Spider-Man and Iron Man.
Evans also shares a rare clip of the cast on set filming the epic last battle scene, where nearly all of the super heroes in the Avengers franchise join together to defeat Thanos.
“There’s so much to love in this little clip: -Danai dancing -Tessa laughing -Mark having no clue what’s happening -Renner being Renner -Rudd being Rudd,” tweets @ChrisEvans.
