Santa Claus is coming to town on Sunday, and here’s what you need to know.
This year’s Santa Claus parade route will be a bit different from previous years. The parade will kick off at 12:30 p.m. at Parliament and Bloor streets. The route will run west on Bloor Street before turning south on Avenue Road. It will then continue on University Avenue and turn east on Wellington Street.
Finally, the parade will turn south on Yonge Street and east on Front Street before concluding at the St. Lawrence Market. It will take an estimated 2.5 hours for all the floats to go by.
Before the parade begins, the Holly Jolly Fun Run will take place along the parade route.
The weather for the parade is expected to be a relief from the frigid temperatures on Friday and Saturday, with a high of 1 C with mainly sunny skies.
Although a part of Line 1 was closed on Saturday, there are no scheduled subway closures for the day of the parade.
GO Transit will be running extra trains on its Milton, Kitchener and Niagara lines. For those who prebuy online, a round trip to and from Union Station will only be $15.
