The fourth patch for NBA 2K20 has been released.
This one is significantly smaller than the third patch which was well over 20 GB. On my PS4, the fourth patch was a little over 100 MB.
According to 2K, here is what Patch 4 addressed:
Fixed the game hanging when attempting to leave the Neighborhood (via exiting to the main menu, playing your next NBA game, etc) after previously viewing the animation store
– Added some minor multiplayer improvements.
– Fixed crashing issues.
– Added stability improvements.
– Various other minor fixes
The most specific noted refer to a bug that caused issues in the Neighborhood. However, the deeper impact is likely to be felt with the “minor” improvements in multiplayer and the stability improvements.
Hardcore 2K user and critic Gideon Prime pointed out a nerfing in the leaping capabilities of shot blockers in the game.
After testing it for myself, I concur, there is more balance on this end. Previously, non-leapers were getting a bit too much height on their contests. There a few other small tweaks to ballhandler-defender interactions.
Other than that, it’s difficult to identify the other parts of the game that were impacted. Hopefully, more specific information will be released on the patch in the coming days.
As of now, the 5v5 experience is playing beautifully, and the same can be said for MyTeam. However, the coming days will tell us how the patch has impacted the PARK and Pro-Am community.
