The NBA 2K20 rating storm is underway. It began with Monday’s live stream hosted by Alexis Morgan, Chris Manning, and Ronnie Singh. The trio was joined by NBA 2K20 cover athlete Anthony Davis in the studio as they uncovered the Top 20 players in the game and the Top 5 rookies.

A few more ratings were revealed on Wednesday. Each of them is included in the table below. Keep in mind, you can go to 2KRatings.com to see all of the confirmed ratings for the game as well as the fluctuations that happen during the season.

There is something depressing about these ratings for a host of fanbases throughout the NBA. We know who the Top 20 players in the league are, and the Top 5 rookies, but we still haven’t seen a single player rating for the Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers or the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Spurs and Wizards have stars in Bradley Beal, John Wall, DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge who figure to fall just outside of the Top 20. The same can be said for the Pacers’ Victor Oladipo and the Mavs’ Kristaps Porzingis, and perhaps Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic. The next tier is the Magic whose best player is almost certainly Nikola Vucevic, and the Kings who have solid young players like De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield.

The Bulls have a good young core led by Zach LaVine, who should be one of the game’s best dunkers and pure scorers, but chances are his defensive struggles are keeping him out of the Top 25. The Bulls are poised for a solid leap if the team sees a major improvement from Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr. If Markkanen can play his way into the mid-80s and Carter Jr. into the low 80s, Chicago’s nucleus will look a lot better in 2K, and in real life.

The Thunder have to be in the worst situation for the upcoming season. They traded both Paul George and Russell Westbrook for a mountain of draft picks, which was smart. They are almost certainly going to unload Chris Paul before the season starts, and perhaps Steven Adams by the NBA trade deadline. Once their team is in its final form for the 2019-20 season, it might be one of the worst in 2K history.

The Thunder might not have a single player rated above a 78 on the roster. Anyone who plays with that team online is a hardcore fan. NBA 2K20 releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 6.
