Egg laying in wild Pogona vitticeps.
A video discussing the cues involved in the reproduction process of bearded dragons.
The main point is excess calorie intake (over feeding) over rides the normal reproduction process allowing egg laying without the male’s input.
Portion control of the diet helps eliminate unwanted egg laying in females (and other problems encountered during reproduction) but also prevents other diseases such as hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver disease).
This video was taken back at the end of October 2018 in the middle of Spring.
