The Annals of Internal Medicine published a series of meta analysis that concluded that there was a “low to very low” association of red and processed meat consumption and the risk of heart disease and certain cancers (but still a link), however since omnivores do not want to reduce meat consumption…wait for it…they recommended continuing to eat red and processed meat at the current level despite the well validated health risks!
Funding source unclear. Note this is NOT endorsed by the Annals of Internal Medicine or ACP, however many experts including myself are ashamed that this was published as it appears to be more clickbait to get traffic to the journal and boost the “impact factor” of the journal. Trending hashtag is #CancerIsClickbait

PCRM, the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and others will have strong rebuttals against this which I will link below when available.
